The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is the updated version of the first game in The Witcher video game series, and follows Geralt as he unravels the mysterious motives of a gang of bandits called the Salamandra.
It’s full of twists, turns, political intrigue, and monster-slaying action – par for the course in the acclaimed RPG franchise.
The Enhanced Edition includes rewritten and rerecorded dialogue, a rejigged inventory which makes things less complicated, greater NPC and monster variety and a host of technical improvements that shorten loading times and increase stability.
The first Witcher is quite dated by today’s standards, and can feel a bit glacial and obtuse. But the story’s good, and it’s fun to see how far characters like Triss, Dandelion and Vesemir have come in later games.
Like everything you get from GoG, the game is DRM-free, so you won’t need an additional client or an internet connection to play.
