Twitch now lets you filter PUBG streams by the number of remaining players

Thanks to Twitch’s new stream filters, you’re now able to filter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds streams based on surviving players. Twitch launched this new set of custom filters earlier, and they’re available to everyone watching PUBG streams. The filters allow you to sort by team type (solo, duo, squad), and even by the number of remaining players in the round. You can choose from ‘More than 50′, ’25-50’, or fewer than 25 for the most hectic streams. The filters work in a similar way to the language filters, and you’ll be able to see the results on the spot. No one likes a chicken dinner when it’s cold. Be there for the big moments by watching @PUBG on Twitch with our new custom filters. pic.twitter.com/A4w2z0Bs2s — Twitch (@Twitch) May 15, 2018 The new filters definitely sound cool, but they are not the first PUBG-related innovation from a streaming platform. Phoenix Point delayed to 2019

Phoenix Point, the crowdfunded title that’s the spiritual successor to the original XCOM, has been pushed back to June 2019. The campaign came to Fig a year ago , and was initially set for release this year. Creator of XCOM and Phoenix Point, Julian Gollop, announced the delay, with a new release date of July 2019. “Our crowdfunding campaign last year was very successful,” he said in a backer update , “but we needed to expand the team to meet the high production values that we were aiming for… “In order to meet the quality that many people expect and to use the full potential of our expanded team, I’ve decided to push back our target release date to June 2019.” Gallop went on to say that they would continue to deliver builds to backers right up until the release date. You can take a look at some Phoenix Point gameplay right here to tide you over for 13 months. Rage 2 is coming in 2019, watch the first gameplay trailer here

It’s been a busy few days for Bethesda with all the Rage 2 teasers and leaks. It was all capped off by the Rage 2 reveal trailer , released yesterday. The trailer’s over-the-top, pulpy presentation sadly didn’t leave any room for gameplay. Bethesda is fixing this today with the release of the game’s first gameplay trailer. The video, which you can watch below, has a decent chunk of gameplay, showing off the shooting, movement, and the vehicle combat. Alongside today’s trailer, Bethesda also revealed early details about the game. Rage 2 is set in an open-world, a wasteland of varied locations and many factions vying for control of what’s left of humanity. You play as the last Ranger, Walker, and you’re going after many gangs as well as The Authority – an oppressive faction who took everything from Walker and left them for dead. Outside of shooting, you’ll also rely on a devastating elemental arsenal called Nanotrite powers. Weapons seem like they’re going to play a big part of g...

SteamVR Input is Valve’s way of streamlining input across the different VR controllers

With SteamVR Input, Valve is doing to VR controllers what it once did to traditional controllers on Steam. In a new SteamVR update, Valve made a big addition called SteamVR Input. In short, the new system allows users to create their own controller bindings that will work across the different VR controllers, whether that’s Valve’s HTC Vice, Rift Touch etc. The tech is designed to even apply the same configs to controllers that have not yet been released, so long as they support SteamVR Input. Like Steam Controller configs, these can be shared with others through the Steam Workshop. This not only lets players make a one-size-fits-all list of bindings and use with all controllers, it also helps developers adapt controls in their games to the wider array of available VR controllers. “When using SteamVR Input, developers expose high level ‘actions’ in their applications that control how the binding UI presents their game to users,” Valve explained . This works with all games that su...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 tweet suggests PS4 timed exclusive DLC

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may feature PlayStation 4 timed-exclusive DLC. The game’s official Twitter account sent out a tweet promoting the reveal livestream taking place this week that will give players their first look at Black Ops 4. The tease ends with a PS4 Pro ad. The tie-in marketing could suggest that once again, Sony has cinched the deal for timed-exclusive DLC this year. Call of Duty: WW2’s DLC also had 30 day PS4 exclusivity, with Xbox’s five year timed exclusivity deal coming to an end in 2015. The title has been rumoured to have no campaign, but there may be a Battle Royale mode in store. Get a first look at #BlackOps4 . Tune in to the livestream event on May 17. Learn more: — Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) May 14, 2018 Good old Zombie mode was confirmed last week , and there are reports that Treyarch has another co-op activity in the works to make up for the absence of a single-player campaign. One of Destiny 2’s best raid teams took over 6 hours to finish Spire of the Stars raid lair

Destiny fans should be familiar with clan Redeem, the raiding team who has many Destiny records to its name. Clan Redeem was the first fireteam to clear Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine raid, and the first to finish the Prestige Leviathan raid in Destiny 2. Over the weekend, the team added a new record to its cabinet. Clan Redeem was the first to finish the Spire of the Stars raid lair, part of the Warmind expansion. By most accounts, this is Destiny’s hardest challenge ever, mostly because it requires a power level of 370, a full 30 levels above the game’s new soft cap of 340. This not only makes the grind to be raid-ready take a pretty long time, it also means that you may have to go in underpowered if you want to be the first to clear the raid. After checking the data, Bungie verified that clan Redeem’s victory did not make use of any exploits. It took the team six and a half hours, or 394 minutes to be exact. Combined, they died 598 times and got a total of 11,864 kills. Congr...

God of War gets comfortable at the top of the UK chart for the fourth week in a row

God of War has maintained its choke-hold on the UK charts, with four consecutive weeks at the top spot. The PlayStation 4 exclusive got off to a strong start last month, selling over 3.1 million units in just three days . Despite being a console exclusive, it’s managed to hang on at the top of the UK retail charts for the fourth week in a row. The last Sony published title to reign in the UK charts for a substantial amount of time was The Last Of Us: Remastered, which clung on for three weeks. The record-holder is The Last Of Us on PS3 which managed six weeks. God of War might have a hard time staying at the top with the impending release of Detroit: Become Human next week, and you can a taste of that action early with the demo , available now on PSN. God of War is the fastest-selling entry in the franchise when it comes to physical sales, and last month, it was the most downloaded game on the PlayStation Store. Casting an eye over the reviews , you can see why. Donkey Kong Cou...

Persona 5 Golden hits another milestone with 2.2 million units sold worldwide

Persona 5 Golden has hit another sales milestone with over 2.2 million copies sold to date. The title launched last April worldwide, with shipments topping 1.5 million units as it came to the west. Last December, Persona 5 had sold two million copies worldwide , making it the highest-selling game in the series so far. The latest milestone sees the title surpass 2.2 million copies sold worldwide. The figures come from Sega’s latest financial results . The fact that there’s still a demand for it isn’t surprising, given that it’s possibly the best instalment in the series . The game received glowing reviews all around , and may help to bolster sales (or at least hype) for the upcoming Persona 5 dancing game . Last year, Atlus USA president and CEO, Naoto Hiraoka, acknowledged that the series was pretty niche not so long ago, but the strong sales are indicative of the “interest in [this genre] expanding.” The post Persona 5 Golden hits another milestone with 2.2 million units sold...

Fortnite: Search Rubber Duckies – How to find 10 quacking rubber ducks in Fortnite

Quack, quack, quack! It’s time to fill up the bath and stock up on stale bread because this week your challenge in Fortnite is to search rubber duckies. And while our plastic feathered friends might be bright yellow, it’s not quite as easy as it sounds to find them. Here’s how to follow the quacking and search the 10 rubber duckies you need to complete the challenge. There are many more duckies floating about than you need to find to finish your challenge, we’ll keep updating this page with more locations as we find them. And with more screenshots so they’re easier to spot Fortnite – Search Rubber Duckies: You can find a rubber duckie at Flush Factory under the toilet in front of the main building. Just break down the pole with your pickaxe and it’s inside. There’s another rubber duckie under the bridge just to the north of Lucky Landing. It should be floating by the upturned ice cream truck. Follow the quacking on the southern side of Greasy Grove and you’ll find a water tank...

Fortnite Replay System guide: tips to watch those homicidal highlights like a pro

Fortnite now lets you watch and edit replays with its neat little video system. The new video editor is currently only available on the PC and consoles versions of Battle Royale (there’s no word yet on when replays might come to mobile or Save the World mode). Still, it’s a surprisingly robust tool, and with a little help from your old pals at VG247, you’ll soon be fiddling with filters, taking snazzy in-game snaps, and watching your finest survival moments in salivating slow-mo. Fortnite Replay System guide First up, you’ll need to actually find where replays are kept – don’t worry, matches are recorded and stored automatically to ensure there’s no mid-match faffing with video options. To access your footage, go to the Career menu, then select Replays . From here, you’ll find all stored videos, sorted by date played, replay length and where your survivor ranked in that particular match. You also have the option to rename videos, but sadly this feature is currently a bit bork...

It looks like Microsoft is making an Xbox controller for accessibility

Microsoft is working on a controller designed to help players with disabilities. The new controller, a promo image of which was dug up by Twitter user @h0x0d , doesn’t look like anything else in the company’s portfolio. Windows Central believes this an Xbox One controller specifically made for players with accessibility needs. The design is very unconventional, as you can see. The two big buttons on the face are the A and B buttons, which are presumably programmable. Though it’s hard to make out from the single image we have, there’s a number of inputs at the top which could also be programmable. They may also be used to connect other devices to the controller. The controller’s face features three LED lights, a dpad, and the Xbox navigational buttons (Xbox Button, Options, View). The left side has a USB port and what looks like a headphone jack. This is not the only controller Microsoft is reportedly working on. Earlier this year, leaked factory images showed an updated Xbox El...

Fortnite: where to follow the treasure map found in Salty Springs

Another week, another treasure hunt. This time you’re looking to follow a map found in Salty Springs. As part of the Fortnite Week 3 Challenges , you’re tasked to follow a treasure map found in Salty Springs . Follow it to a giant Battle Star and you’ll get 10 stars and shoot up a tier. Nice. You can of course go to Salty Springs and find the map pinned to a wall, decipher the scrawled clues and track down the location. But that’s the long-winded way. Instead, we recommend following this handy map, which shows the Battle Star is on the east side of the map, to the left of the biggest tree at the race track . The location is J7. All you have to do is drop out the Battle Bus and glide down to its location to grab it. Salute to Gaming Soldiers for the map. And that’s it! You can now get on with the rest of the challenges. Or you could camp that spot and wait for other players to land and fill them full of bullets while they swing their axes wildly. There’s a new patch due today f...

Meet Alibi, the new defender in Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Para Bellum

Ubisoft has officially revealed the first operator coming to Rainbow Six Siege with Operation Para Bellum. Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Para Bellum is set in Italy, as you’ve no doubt seen in the Villa map reveal , and the first operator is an Italian. Called Alibi (real name Aria de Luca), she’s a defender designed to find clever ways to exploit the attackers’ tactics. Her design was inspired by the Italian Raggruppamento Operativo Speciale unit. Ubisoft has yet to officially reveal her abilities, but it looks like she uses a decoy of some kind to lure her opponents into making a mistake. We’re going to see what she actually does at the Pro League Finals May 19-20, which is when the first gameplay trailer will drop. Until then, you can check out this brief teaser trailer below or learn more about her bio on the official site . If you’re really keen, you can grab the season pass for 30% off. Fortnite: Burst Assault Rifle arrives today but weekly patch delayed

Today’s patch for Fortnite Battle Royale brings with it a brand new weapon and it’s a bit of a beast. The Burst Assault Rifle is the latest weapon to be added to the armoury. There is a slight problem though – Epic says that the release of Patch 4.2 will be delayed and it has no ETA yet as to when it will roll out. We’ve discovered an issue that’s going to delay the release of v4.2. Due to this delay some quests may not function until the build releases. We’ll update you once we have a more accurate time frame. — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) May 15, 2018 Today should also mark the beginning of Fortnite Week 3 Challenges but expect there to be a few hiccups with the patch roll-out. It might means some of those challenges don’t work as they should. It’s fair to say today might be a rocky one for Fortnite fans but we’ll keep you updated as we get more info. If you are experiencing trouble, please don’t call the wrong Epic Games cos the owner is getting pissed off. The post Fort...

Hundreds of Fortnite players are calling wrong “Epic Games” to complain

Please stop calling Epic Loot Games to complain about your Fortnite match. They cannot help you. Right now, Fortnite is the biggest game on the planet and a real feather in Epic Games’ cap. But it’s also a major frustration to Epic Loot Games, a small Ohio tabletop store that has been receiving hundreds of customer support complaints. I blame Thanos . According to a report from Kotaku , Epic Games handles its customer support complaints by email, with no live phone support. That means anybody Googling for a phone number is directed to Epic Loot Games instead, and usually ends up talking to owner Hunter Davies. “There are so many calls—pranks, angry gamers, kids who don’t understand why the support doesn’t have a readily available method of contact,” Davies told Kotaku. “We started telling them to use the website because they can’t actually talk to anyone on the phone.” Epic Loot Games has starting running a tally of calls since Drake’s Fortnite match made Fortnite a mainstream ...

Super Mario Odyssey datamine reveals five unreleased costumes

A recent datamine has revealed all kinds of brand-new Super Mario Odyssey costumes, from a zombie outfit to Santa Claus. Super Mario Odyssey is an exceedingly fun game, in no small part thanks to the great alternate costumes you can unlock. And those costumes will probably be a big part of Nintendo’s post-launch DLC plans, if Balloon World was anything to go on . So it should come as no surprise that dataminers have uncovered five brand-new outfits in Super Mario Odyssey’s code that have yet to be released to the gaming public. These leaks come from the YouTuber Mizumi , who went digging around to see what unreleased Odyssey content could be activated. Along with previously uncovered Broodal outfits , Mizumi found five brand-new hats and costumes. The new costumes include an “8-bit” version of Mario, a charming Santa Claus, and even a zombie Mario with an axe wedged in his skull. Full descriptions, as summarized by IGN , are detailed below. Racing Helmet: A helmet that’ll get ...

Cliff Bleszinski announces closure of Boss Key Productions

Boss Key Productions, the studio behind Lawbreakers and Radical Heights, is no more. Cliff Bleszinski announced earlier today that Boss Key Productions has been shut down. Bleszinski made a statement via Twitter just an hour ago. Boss Key’s closure arrives over a month after the launch of Radical Heights, the Battle Royale game intended to mark a new direction for the studio. Bleszinski’s statement follows: As of today, Boss Key Productions is effectively no more. Four years ago I set out to make a world class video game studio and I hired some of the best talent in the videogame industry. They worked tirelessly to produce quality products and, while we had our ups and downs, I’d like to think we had fun doing it. LawBreakers was a great game that unfortunately failed to gain traction, and, in a last ditch attempt we scrambled to do our take on the huge battle royale genre with Radical Heights which was well received, however, it was too little too late. As for myself, I’m goi...

Stardew Valley headed to PlayStation Vita

Stardew Valley is arriving on the PS Vita this month, complete with a PS4 cross-buy option. Stardew Valley is one of those games that’s so charming, it’s no wonder it’s been released on just about every major platform. Now it’s scheduled to arrive on one of the last remaining current systems this month: The PlayStation Vita. The Vita release was confirmed by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone by a blog post earlier today . This latest release will also be cross-buy with the PlayStation 4 edition, which unlocks both versions for a single purchase. (And yes, that means PS4 customers will get the Vita version for free.) There is one tiny downside: The Vita release will not include Stardew Valley’s multiplayer update . The good news is the PS4 version will gain multiplayer functionality with the console update later this year, so you won’t be entirely left out. (Thanks to Eurogamer for the heads-up on that front.) Stardew Valley can be harvested from the PlayStation Store on May 22, 2018 f...

Divinity Original Sin 2 headed to Xbox Game Preview this week

Xbox players will be able to enjoy Divinity: Original Sin 2 a little earlier than other console owners. Divinity: Original Sin 2 launched for PC last year, and quickly proved to be a solid RPG. That said, there are some benefits to waiting for this summer’s console release: You’ll be able to dive right into the Definitive Edition, and will have Xbox Game Preview early access. And for the record, that early access period starts on Wednesday. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the sequel to Larian Studios hugely successful fantasy RPG. This game offers a brand-new, open-ended story campaign while expanding the co-op system to support 4 players. Just like the original’s “Enhanced Edition”, Larian will use its console launch to unveil Original Sin 2’s Definitive Edition with new content and various game fixes. If you haven’t played the game yet and own an Xbox One, the Game Pass feature is the most exciting part. Starting on May 16, 2018, Xbox One players can play the first three hours of ...

Destiny 2 Warmind: how to bring nine players into Escalation Protocol

Destiny 2 Warmind’s challenging Escalation Protocol event is a lot easier when you can bring eight friends along with you. Of all the new Destiny 2 content available in Warmind, Escalation Protocol is perhaps the hardest. This endgame activity is a horde-based gameplay mode that pits Guardians against increasingly powerful waves of Hive enemies. The only problem is that since Escalation Mode acts as a public event, you’re usually playing with randomly-assigned Guardians to complete the challenge. Since the varying skill levels can make this event even more more difficult, some players came up with a method of assembling nine friends in a single game. This method comes courtesy of Destiny 2 YouTuber xHOUNDISHx (via Polygon ). It’s not overly difficult, but might take a few tries to accomplish successfully, as it’s not an officially-supported method. Load up your Destiny 2 Guardian, but do not form a Fireteam. Use a service like the PS4’s Party feature to communicate with your fri...

Superhot JP is a Japanese-based off-shoot, developed in Japan

The next Superhot experience is going to come from an unlikely source. Superhot, one of the best shooters ever, was a little bit light on content. Outside of releasing a VR version, the game’s developer, Superhot Team, has not yet talked about new content. Today, new content was announced not by Superhot Team, but by Japanese developer GameTomo. Superhot JP is what GameTomo is working on; a standalone campaign set in Japan. Superhot JP is a working title, and GameTomo promises a Japanese flavour in environments, such as Tokyo alleyways, bullet trains, samurai castles, and hot springs. Superhot’s distinct gameplay and art style will be unchanged, but GameTomo is expanding on the original with a new UI, new menus, not to mention a completely new story inspired by the Japanese theme. Superhot JP will launch with 15-18 levels, as well as three-four endless levels. Expect to see new weapons, including a bow and arrow, and some other “surprises.” GameTomo is developing the game wi...

Overwatch Anniversary Event starts next week, brings 50 new cosmetics, new deathmatch map

It’s official! The second Overwatch Anniversary Event goes live next week. Following a leak over the weekend, Blizzard has now officially confirmed all the details about Overwatch’s next event, Anniversary. The Overwatch Anniversary Event begins Tuesday, May 22 and will go on until Tuesday, June 12 on all platforms. Blizzard promises over 50 new cosmetic items, including eight legendary and three epic skins, not to mention dance emotes. A new deathmatch map will be added on the event’s first day, called Petra. This year, deathmatch will also feature a competitive variant with placement matches and skill rating. Much like Overwatch’s previous in-game event, this year’s Anniversary Event will also bring back all seasonal cosmetic items for those who missed them the last time around. Some past seasonal brawls will also return to the Arcade, and they’ll be rotating daily. If you log in during the event, you’ll get a Legendary Anniversary Loot Box, which will net you at least one gu...

Mad Max’s Avalanche Studios worked on Rage 2

The resemblance between Bethesda’s Rage 2 and Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max may not be coincidental. Did the Rage 2 teaser trailer look a little familiar to you? Perhaps that’s because it uses the same Mad Max template almost every post-apocalyptic game does these days. Then again, it might be because Avalanche Studios – the team behind 2015’s Mad Max – had a hand in developing the game. No, seriously. If you visit Bethesda’s official Rage 2 website and scroll down to the fine print, you’ll find the following copyright notice: “© 2018 Bethesda Softworks LLC, a ZeniMax Media company. Developed in association with Avalanche Studios, trading as Fatalist Entertainment AB.” (Thanks to the folks at Resetera’s comments page for spotting this .) Bethesda working with Avalanche on this project makes a great deal of sense. Even if we ignored Mad Max, this team is well-versed in the style of gameplay Rage is aiming for. Avalanche first broke into the gaming scene with the popular open-world...

PlatinumGames is working on a top-secret action game

Apparently PlatinumGames is working on a game that will “turn the action genre on its head”, alongside other projects. Credit where credit is due, PlatinumGames knows its action games. When it isn’t working on the impressively fun Bayonetta series, the studio is usually crafting a solid mid-tier game ( Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance ) or a genre-breaking work of art ( Nier: Automata ). So when PlatinumGames founders Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya say an upcoming game will “turn the action genre on its head”, we should probably sit up and pay attention. This information was provided at a Bitsummer panel in Kyoto, Japan ( with thanks to DualShockers for the translation ). After talking about the upcoming Bayonetta 3, Kamiya made a point of mentioning other projects the team is working on. While these games don’t have many details, Kamiya is still incredibly excited about them. He made special note of a project that is so top-secret, most of PlatinumGames’ staff aren’t aware of its...
