Twitch now lets you filter PUBG streams by the number of remaining players

Thanks to Twitch’s new stream filters, you’re now able to filter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds streams based on surviving players. Twitch launched this new set of custom filters earlier, and they’re available to everyone watching PUBG streams. The filters allow you to sort by team type (solo, duo, squad), and even by the number of remaining players in the round. You can choose from ‘More than 50′, ’25-50’, or fewer than 25 for the most hectic streams. The filters work in a similar way to the language filters, and you’ll be able to see the results on the spot. No one likes a chicken dinner when it’s cold. Be there for the big moments by watching @PUBG on Twitch with our new custom filters. pic.twitter.com/A4w2z0Bs2s — Twitch (@Twitch) May 15, 2018 The new filters definitely sound cool, but they are not the first PUBG-related innovation from a streaming platform. Late last year, Microsoft’s Mixer debuted the HypeZone channel , a channel that automatically features streamers ...

Spec Ops: The Line is free for the next couple of days on the Humble Store

Spec Ops: The Line is free right now through the Humble Store. Those who’ve yet to play Spec Ops: The Line can download the game for free on PC. Based on Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, Spec Ops tells a rather dark story, and the single-player was rather good, depending upon who you ask. Unfortunately, critics, players  and even developer Yager itself  called out the “tacked-on” multiplayer. Still, we consider Spec Ops: The Line  one of the most underrated games of its generation . Well, some of us did. You have one day and 21 hours, as of press time, to grab it off the Humble Store if don’t want to hand out the cash. PUBG Mobile invaded by keyboard and mouse players

PUBG has a cheating problem, and no we’re not talking about the PC version this time. Looks like players of PUBG Mobile have found a way to cheat by using a mouse and keyboard. Thanks to the precision a mouse provides for aiming, it messing with game balance (thanks, PCgamesN ). One of the ways folks are able to use keyboard and mouse with PUBG Mobile is by installing the game on a Chromebook, according to Motherboard . KBM which are bluetooth enabled can also be pared with a tablet or smartphone to be used. Another way is to run the game on PC is by using one of the available Android emulators on the market. Whether folks view this as cheating or not is a manner of perspective, but however you look at it, KBM users have an unfair advantage over others who are sticking with touchscreen controls on PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile was released earlier this month on Android and iOS in the US following a soft launch in Canada and an initial release in China. The post PUBG Mobile invaded ...

Fortnite’s Sniper Shootout mode isn’t handing out rewards, XP or progress

Fortnite’s latest limited time mode isn’t giving out rewards to Battle Royale players. Sniper Shootout V2 went live today with the 3.4 update, alongside the new guided missile , the Easter egg launcher and a bunch of other fixes. But players hoping to gain some extra XP and progress through Season 3 tiers won’t be getting any rewards until the problem is fixed. The Sniper Shootout v2 LTM isn’t granting rewards, XP, or progress. We're investigating this and will update you once we have more information. — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) March 29, 2018 Sniper Shootout V2 is a little different from its previous form – the magnum has been removed and in its place are the hunting rifle and the crossbow. Sales of Nintendo Switch in Japan have reached 4 million units

Nintendo Switch is doing well in Japan. Sales of Nintendo Switch in Japan have reached 4 million units, according to Media Create. Media Create is an independent firm which tracks retail sales in the region, similar to NPD in the US and GFK Chart-Track in the UK. Nintendo cites Media Create figures when reporting unit sales, as does Capcom. According to figures released for the week ending March 25, lifetime sales of Nintendo Switch in Japan reached 3,952,748 or approximately 4 million unit sold (thanks, resetera ). In contrast, Famistu estimates Switch has sold 4,037,144 units. While the figures show a 84,396 difference, when calculating retail sales it’s not huge discrepancy. Both companies use different means of research, but either way, Nintendo Switch has sold 4 million units in Japan. The console is now on track to best lifetime sales of GameCube in the region – if it hasn’t already. Nintendo estimates worldwide sales of Nintendo Switch are 14.86 million , as of December ...

Far Cry 5 Arcade’s best maps: PUBG, Battlefield, Resident Evil 7, and more

Far Cry 5 is a massive game full of places to explore, people to shoot, and mountainsides to wingsuit off. Still, a huge open world that’s fully playable in co-op just wasn’t enough for Ubisoft, so the developer saw fit to also add Far Cry Arcade into the mix. What is Far Cry Arcade? Far Cry Arcade is a toolkit that allows players to create their very own Far Cry 5 levels in a robust editing suite. Not only can you use all of the assets from the game, but the editor also contains items from other Ubisoft games such as Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin’s Creed Origins. You can use the tool to create deathmatch maps, co-op missions, and even single-player quests. Far Cry Arcade best maps The game hasn’t been out long, but the community has already dived in, creating a bunch of inventive, original maps, as well as homages to other games entirely. Here are some of the best so far. Far Cry Arcade Upside Down map Upside Down is an exploration map within Far Cry Arcade. It contains no proper...

Battlefield 1 Easter patch adds mid-round team balancer, makes bloom less blinding

DICE has put out a new Battlefield 1 patch designed to fix many stability problems introduced in previous patches, and make one particular graphical feature less annoying. The update is out now for all Battlefield 1 players, clocking in at around 3.5GB. This Easter patch lessens the effect of bloom, or exposure adjustment, players get when viewing bright environments from darker, indoor areas. This most commonly happens when you spend a few seconds in a building then run outside or go towards a window. The light of the environment outside the room blinds you for a split-second before your eyes readjust. It’s something that happens in the real world, but Battlefield 1 always had a more pronounced representation. This effect has now been lessened, though DICE noted that this will have a greater effect on certain maps but not so much on others. The update is also introducing a mid-round team balancer that will kick in anytime one team has three or more players. The more team a player...

Sea of Thieves already has hackers

Despite not being an ultra-competitive game, cheaters have nonetheless started appearing in Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves does not exactly strike me as a game where cheaters would be willing to spend time and money in order to gain an unfair advantage over others. Yes, PvP makes a significant part of the experience, but losing a fight is not as big of a deal as it is in other persistent games. Yet somehow, hackers found ways to break the game and ruin others’ fun – likely because they could. As reported by Windows Central , Sea of Thieves cheating programs already exist. The program shown in the screenshots looks similar to what you might see being used by a PUBG or even classic Call of Duty hackers on PC. The hack offers auto-aim that locks onto players’ heads (naturally), see through walls and other typical hacker advantages. The cheats also reveal chests from a distance and through walls, just in case these other advantages weren’t Sea of Thieves-specific enough. This is inte...

There’s no such thing as free V-Bucks – where to earn cheap V-Bucks in Fortnite

Every match of Fortnite is different. Whether you’re scrapping for control of Tilted Towers or building bases near the giant llama, you never know what’s going to pop out of the bushes next. When you do want to add a little extra spice to the game though, nothing works better than a cool character skin or silly emote to show off to your friends in Squads. But for that you need V-Bucks. There’s no such thing as free V-bucks, so here are a few ways to earn them as cheaply as possible. Don’t give your account details to any website claiming to offer free V-Bucks, they’re trying to scam you. Epic Games – the developer of Fortnite – posted a warning on Twitter, reminding everyone only to enter their password on the official Fortnite page. Be wary of people offering cheap V-Bucks on auction sites like eBay too – if a price seems too good to be true, it usually is. PSA: Visiting websites or clicking links claiming “free” Vbucks or in-game items are unsafe. The official Fortnite website i...
